Program description: A hundred years ago, American women were organizing to get the right to vote, as some had been doing for more than 50 years. This year women are running for political offices in record numbers. What are the odds for and against them? What’s it like to serve in politics as a woman? And what else can women do to become involved in government? Rep. Ellen Story, a long time legislator now retired, and Marie Gauthier, who added activist to her poet resume when she founded a Franklin County branch of the League of Women Voters, will offer some answers and advice.
